All my knowledge in the field of marine aquaristics has gone into the development of the app and is now available to you as the logic behind the AI. So far, I have invested over 2,500 hours of unpaid work. The subscriptions are solely to cover the incurred and ongoing costs and to secure the project's future, not to make a profit.

What does this mean in subscriptions?

With a subscription price of €3.99, the app stores (Apple/Google) keep 30%. This means that effectively €2.79 per month reaches me from each subscription. That amounts to €33.48 per year per customer.

• To cover the ongoing costs, about 45 active subscribers are needed continuously (€1,500 / €33.48).
• To cover all costs in the first year (€5,000 investment + €1,500 running costs = €6,500), an average of about 195 subscribers would be required.

The True Value of the Project

The €5,000 so far only covers material costs. If the over 2,500 hours of development time for the app, the ReefManager software, and the cloud infrastructure were outsourced to an agency, the theoretical value, at a moderate hourly rate of €60, would be well over €150,000. These costs were only avoided because I bore them myself out of passion.
